The story

Together with a financial partner, we had to design a gift that would categorize their clients into 6 groups based on their financial intelligence. This idea gave birth to a unique dice that won international patents. The dice’s values are on its corners instead of its sides, creating a special logic system. It revitalized classic games such as dice-domino in a new space. The product won the American Parent’s Choice award, shortlisted as the best debut game category in the Nuremberg Toy Fair and received praises from Rubik Erno for its design. The Rubik Studio’s leader currently directs the product development, manufacturing, and market introduction.

The details

Dice-on-Dice is a magnetic corner connection logic game system that combines gaming and learning. Its plastic design allows visually impaired individuals to play. Moreover, its educational aspect can help develop early dyslexia and dysgraphia in preschoolers. The Hungarian government offices also have their customized version, as well as a small magnetic version, the size of a traditional dice. Its base unit consists of two cubes with their mirror images on each other. The dark magnetic pieces stick only to the light pieces. We developed separate game rules for the 2-4-9-27 pieces version.

The product has already achieved significant success in prototype versions at European toy fairs (Spielwarenmesse, Nuremberg International Toy Fair) and American competitions (Parent’s Choice Award).

After subsequent development and market analysis, the Rubik Studio leader currently organizes its market entry into the international and mainly American markets. Additionally, it won the Red Dot Design Award in the product category and the Hungarian Design Award, also in the product category.

The game family includes larger, leather-covered 30cm sponge cubes that can also be used as seating, accessory cards, magnetic polymer cubes, and additional cards. It is also available in most Hungarian government customer service offices.
