The story

After years of preparation, the National Handball Academy (NEKA) began its work in Balatonboglár on July 28, 2013. The idea for the academy’s creation is attributed to Prof. Dr. H. C. Lajos Mocsai, who envisioned a systematically structured training system that would incorporate sports science. The sport science and professional director envisioned the work at the academy to be based on three pillars: professional work based on international sports science, the highest level of competition, and personality development, in which professionals participating in teaching and education work would take part.

The details

Over the years, not only has the methodology for preparation become increasingly refined, but the academy’s infrastructure has also greatly improved. Today, NEKA’s complex includes a state-of-the-art sports hall and a residential village directly on the shore of Lake Balaton. This infrastructure has enabled NEKA to expand its focus on youth development and host domestic and foreign teams and national squads who have chosen Balatonboglár as their preparation venue.

The focus is still on the academy’s work: its male and female students compete in youth championships, and they also field teams with young players in the adult NB I/B league.

Their students regularly participate in various age-group national teams, and in late 2019, the first player trained at NEKA, Petra Vámos, made her debut in the adult World Championship.

Our company was honored to be commissioned by NEKA to design the academy and methodology’s branding, visual elements, interior branding, and comprehensive visual communication. The foundational unit, symbolizing a ball and a network, visually connects to the academy’s mission and future vision.
